Two Way Hard Three | Las Vegas Casino & Design Blog

Less because this is an interesting photo or even because I think the exterior of this building is all that compelling, I'm choosing the Cosmo this week because this week they've unveiled a new Web site and shed some light on their upcoming rooms.

Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas opens December 15th - see you there?

So nobody really likes the unimaginative design of the 2 towers, but I am very interested in the design of the casino and pool areas. A multi-floor casino with gaming cabanas could be a hit. Also, multi-level strip-front pool/club areas could have a cool vibe (but day-life is now a crowded field). Room design is nice w/ balconies, but not top-shelf. If they can get a hotel club feeder system (e.g. Hilton Honors or Starwood) to fill the rooms, they could outperform Aria. I also think their initial room rates are almost about right and with the usual discounting should work.

The office building look of City Center and Cosmopolitan just ruins the Strip's skyline. Its so boring looking, particularly MO and Vdara. The whole complex blocks all of the unique looking resorts like NYNY, Paris Caesars, Bellagio etc.

I disagree with Kenny.
