Wynn Macau Expansion Opens December 24th

Posted by Hunter

This was in the news yesterday and I just assumed most people saw it so I didn't post it but maybe I was wrong... Anyway, Wynn Macau is set to open it's casino expansion on Monday, December 24th. This includes more tables, slots, and their new dramatic entry feature (I hope we hear more about this soon). Following in January are more retails shops including Hugo Boss and Ferrari.

"In January 2008, we will unveil our expanded retail promenade featuring 11 new stores including Dunhill, Ermenegildo Zegna, Ferrari, Gucci, Hermes, Hugo Boss, Miu Miu, Van Cleef & Arpels, Versace, Vertu and Wynn & Company Watches & Jewelry."
Since I have never heard of Ermenegildo Zegna and don't know who or what it is, I don't meet the Wynn Macau customer criteria.

Steve has talked about this feature a few times. I too am very curious as to what it is exactly. Hopefully we'll see video's of it on youtube within a few weeks. I wonder if this feature will be the same one used at Encore also? I know both are indoors. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Detroit, here in Orange County, Zegna has a strong Asian following. I'd assume it's the same in other parts of the world as well since their suits tend to highlight the features of the slim man. I think they'll do exceptionally well in Macau.

Hunter, just wanted to let you know that I just made VegasLists the Feature Link of the day on my little VegasLinks blog.

You can read the review here-
http://vegaslinks.blogspot.com/

I don't think I've done a more flattering review out of the many on the blog.

Hope it drives more traffic your way. Keep up the killer work.

Wow, thanks, I'm flattered.

I don't think I've seen your site before - how long have you been doing it?

Somebody (construction worker?) snuck a video of the feature and it was on YouTube for a very short time and somebody must have pulled it, because I can't find it again. From what I remember its a gold tree that arises from the floor and the ceiling just above it opens up to review some high tech displays, the tree grows and changes colors, the room's walls I think moved too. Thats all I recall, very asian in concept, wouldn't necessarily be that much of a attraction in LV in my opinion. If I find it I'll pass it on. I just got lucky and stumbled upon it. Wasn't found with the normal "Wynn Macau" search terms.

Only a couple months. I'm crazy about Vegas and have read your stuff as well as LVA, Vegasmessageboard, and every other Vegas related content I could get my hands on for 4 or 5 years.

I just thought it would be cool to share some bookmarks that I regularly visited to get my Vegas fix. Then I thought it would be something I would love, to come in to work and have a daily new Vegas link that someone discovered spoon fed to me every day.

So I started and got some great feedback.

As you probably feel also, it's all done out of a labor of love and wanting to share.

To Joey from Boston : Thanks also for the link to my Vegas website - www.cutevegasmap.com.

I've been redesigning the site and plan to have a "soft opening" January first. It's going to be called "CoolVegasMap.com."

I'm looking for feedback from those who check out lots of web sites. I'm working pretty hard on some redesign features and would like to see if people like the changes.

Thanks in advance for feedback.

The "Tree of Prosperity" at Wynn Macau:

Maybe it's more impressive in person, but the coolest feature seems to be the retractable ceiling.

Great, Thanks Mike, what a nice find for Christmas. I will admit, I am not booking a flight today to go see this, however, I bet its pretty impressive in person. Those youtube videos are such poor quality, its hard to see how the tree looks and is lit. Also I wonder if the walls change, and I wonder if the same thing always happens. Because on a few occasions, Wynn stated that the whole room changes before your eyes, leading me to believe there might be different shows, or that it would at least vary somewhat. ? But thanks again, I'm glad we didn't have to wait too long for this video.

Is he running out of classy sophisticated tunes? I was really surprised when the water show used a Disney tune, and now he's using the Olympic theme?

Next time anybody sees Steve, ask him what's on his iPod.

Here is another video of the Tree feature. This video is a little better, and a little more clear. I am sure these are just the start of many pics and videos we will see, as this feature has only been open 2 days, and there are already 2 videos that have been posted by the general publc, not casino junkies like ourselves.
