Ok, it has been a long time since the last podcast and tonight we are going to attempt a LIVE call in podcast.

Anyone can call in and we will take questions from y'all.

I am setting things up so watch this space for call-in instructions.

We WANT you to participate!!

Update: Planning on starting this sucker up at 10pm PT. You will be able to phone in using a regular phone or a VOIP service like Skype or Vonage.

Okay, here's the link for more info: http://www.talkshoe.com/talkshoe/web/talkCast.jsp?masterId=44621&cmd=tc

Visit the site and create a PIN - it's free - then you can call in:

Cool. I hope this works. I just did a test by joining someone else's Talkshoe podcast and I got on so hopefully we're all good. See you then!

Yeah, it won't work until the podcast starts.

I just tested it by going on someone else's show and it worked great so I have high hopes.

I'm pissed that I'm going to miss this tonight. I'm definitely going to try to make the next one.
Well, I'm on my way to the Mirage right now, I'll try to call from there if I can.

Great Show Hunter!!! I really enjoyed it, I hope the recording was as good, looking forward to hearing it, and hopefully on the next one we can get some more people calling in.

In the meantime this is the perfect chance to grab that "Five Hundy" Audience while Tim and Michelle were out.. ;o)

Thanks David for being a part of it.

I plan to do the podcasts this way in the future - it was much more fun and I can only assume that next time, with a proper announcement and sane ET start time, we'll have a bigger crowd.

I'm planning on adding some new regular features, some of which is some additional touristy stuff from RateVegas.com

Sorry I missed it, but after a Friday night out, the 1:00 AM start time was too late for me. I just checked the link to make sure I could hear it. 85 minutes...Wow! I'll listen later, but if I have any reactions, I guess I'll have to talk to myself.

Hunter, I just listened to the podcast recording and agree it's a good format to allow interaction. The caller using a landline came through more clearly to me. I'm sorry I couldn't chime in on a few things you discussed:
Caesars---I've stayed at Augustus Tower and found the rooms excellent.
Luxor---I took the Nile River Ride as a joke when the property first opened. The casino smelled like chlorine, and it was ridiculous.
Encore---I agree with whomever (DavidF?) said that Encore will be a huge success. I'll definitely be there soon after it opens.
CityCenter---It will be first class, but I'm not sure of the appeal of another Chicago loop or midtown Manhattan. I do like the look of the new casino hotel and believe it will be the star of the MGM Mirage stable.
The two other new projects which should be very successful are Cosmo and Fontainebleau. Fontainebleau will be a good anchor for the north end of the Strip until Echelon and City Center North are built.
DavidF, do you live in Las Vegas?

Detroit, we could have done with you there!!! not a criticism of Hunter, but I was on the spot are couple of times (As, Er, you can, er, probabyl, um, tell, LOL!!) but I knew what I was signing on for upfront, I will be better prepared and I look forward to the next one, which I know will be better, This "Participation" and "Opinion" from other contributors to the blog gives the podcast a Unique perspective which I think no over LV Podcast offers as of now.

OK, enough B.S., Sadly I don't live in LV, I currently Live in Dallas TX, although you may be shocked to hear I am not from there originally!! ;-)

You can take a guess where if you wish (As can anyone else reading this, except Mike E and Hunter who already know)

DavidF, you sounded like a Texan to me. Either that, or jolly olde England. Didn't sound Australian to me. I'll say the Cotswolds.

Detroit,

Well actually its South Dakota, I used to say Arkansas until I met someone from there who got upset.

But you are correct .... Almost, I am hardly a "Scouser", I'm from Manchester. At least you didn't say Australia or South Africa :-)

I just listened to this podcast on my commute today. The first ten minutes of prep time were odd but since I've listened to the previous WLV podcasts, I figured it would get better. And it did. Interesting to have a more interactive conversation.

Regarding the Luxor Nile ride, I lived in LV when it opened and that was a big disaster. I seem to recall there were problems getting people from the front door to the check in lobby. I definitely agree that the whole place is in need of a makeover. My suggestion was to turn the atrium in the Pyramid into an indoor water park with a waterfall dropping out of the center of the apex of the pyramid.

I really should have cut off all that crap at the beginning. Sorry. I was trying to figure out how everything worked.

Thanks for listening. Hopefully you can join us live for the next one and chime in!
