I love this quote:

"From the moment people hear about a property, the design experience begins. In their imagination, their minds fill in the spaces in anticipation of coming to a property. We have to exceed that anticipation..."

How does your mind "fill in the spaces" when the name is something prosaic like "city center" or "the hotel"?

Well that's a problem. The sheer density and indistinguishability / sameness necessitated by insane land values (how many Sephora shops did Hunter mention in his audiowalk?) will cause Vegas to lose some of its character. Another Upper East Side is not what I come to Vegas for.

Chatted with the clerk at Wynn's Pro Shop and mentioned how sad it would be when that lovely golf course view goes away. She said sadly, but without hesitation, "...the land is so valuable...."

And that's the problem. I fear Palazzo and City Center may only be the beginning of what will have to happen, and well-thought-out projects like Wynn's will fail to be financed. Isn't Wynn's way part of the reason he lost Mirage, Inc. to the sharks. (I bet he'd never have left Bellagio and Shadow Creek voluntarily, even as thankful as we are for what he accomplished with Wynn LV.)
