Interesting. It kind of throws the brain for a loop seeing what looks like the Fountains of Bellagio in front of what looks like Wynn Las Vegas.

The scale is so small, I wonder if it'll run as a free attraction at certain intervals. It seems quite feasible to run them non-stop throughout the day. I'm curious of the music selections as well. I'm fairly sure American musical theater is out of the question.

Is that Wynn's second tower going up in front of the fountains? Maybe it's just the perspective of the picture, but it seems like it's placed in the worst possible position blocking the view from the front of the fountains. From the early pictures that I saw of the completed project, it definitely didn't look like that.

Can't argue with putting them in a new venue (Macau), given the wide appeal of the Bellagio fountains....although Steve couldn't have done it in front of WLV without being accused of copying what he had already done. Be interesting to see what he has in store for Encore.

Curiousity question: What is that object going up to the right of the fountains?

Yeah, it sure looks that way to me, based off of that picture. Kind of a minature of Bellagio. That's cool. I knew there was going to be a water feature there. I wonder if WET Designs, the people that did Bellagio did this project also?

Well, it's a blatant rip off, but he was the first. So he can do as he likes. Everybody loves a fountain show!

And notice the Stratosphere in the background!!

DO you think its possible the object is going to be the Wynn Macau marquee?

Brian, I also wondered about Wet Designs. I looked at their list of clients, and Wynn isn't among them. Half the world is, though including Mirage Resorts and Atlandia Design. Did Atlandia disappear after Wynn sold Mirage Resorts? Many of Wynn's design staff came from Atlandia.

Before I even got to the thread about the Marquee, that was my guess. I don't know what else it could be.

I am sure WET did it, they probably can't or don't post a their clients until the project is up and running. I stay at the Grand Hyatt in Japan, and WET did the fountains there also. Steve isn't through with fountains, I don't think. Not by a long shot. I look for the lake behind Wynn & Encore to possibly combine, the fountains of Bellagio with the LED and project show of Wynn, into what could be something really specticular. I hope Encore's feature really rocks, many were let down, by the one at Wynn, this was the only let down in the entire property to me. It's ok, but it did not change my life.

That thing being erected to the right of the water is, I believe, a massive sign (like the one out the front of Wynn LV but with a different shape). A side view of it would show that it is only about the width of the Wynn LV sign.

As for the builing under construction on the left, I believe it is the extension but it doesn't appear that it involves a tower. I will try and take a picture of it this Saturday and post it.

I read somewhere that Wynn has WET under contract and only he can have a water feature designed by WET in Macau.

And that structure by the lake looks like it is probably the marquee.

Atlandia was Mirage Resorts' in-house design group, much like Wynn Development and Design is to Wynn Resorts. Atlandia got folded into the MGM MIRAGE Design Group after the merger.

I would fully expect the Macau fountain project to be a WET item. We'll see.

I had asked a friend to tell me what's under construction on the corner of the Wynn property. He emailed me today that he couldn't see due to the scaffolding. but he assumed it was going to be a huge sign or tower of some sort. He had stayed at Wynn Las Vegas last month and said Wynn Macau looks just as good, on a smaller scale. He also reported MGM Grand, next door, will complement the area.

Well as a frequenter reader of the blog and just getting back from Macau I thought I would contribute my photos. Here is a URL to the photos.

I was able to get a picture of Wynn from the Macau Tower which shows a good overview of the property. Plus, it shows the sign without the scaffolding. Enjoy the pictures and I know everyone will enjoy the casino when it opens. I was able to take a tour of the property and it is an exteme upgrade over any current property in Macau.

Macauphoto, thanks for the photos. I hadn't realized how close Wynn and MGM Grand would be to each other. It may not be the Cotai Strip, but there should be some synergy with the two side by side.

Looks like the Beau Rivage...but substitute the small WLV tower...seems discongruent

I was walking past today and saw them running some tests on the fountains outside Wynn Macau - very much like Bellagio except there are also some different colored lights as well as bursts of flame incorporated. Also seems like the jets can do slightly more intricate things.

Steve signed WET to an exclusive contract with Mirage Resorts in Las Vegas, so he couldn't have them do something for Wynn LV.

Now he had the chance to have them design something for Wynn Macau.
