Excellent food but....the service is shockingly bad. A shame.

The steal was god, but the ice and cake...... Oh my god. It was so good and there was a lot of it. I'm coming back

Yep, I ate at Circus Circus. Here is the story:

This place is located on the upstairs level not too far from the amusement park. It's best thought of as the 24 hour café for the Manor Rooms set, though it isn't 24 hours. The menu is very much the same, and the location is less of a hike for any hotel guests and those in the Manor or campgrounds specifically.

The room is fairly nice enough for CC standards. Guests sit under a phony sky and low-budget Italian terrace design. It's cheap, but that motif has always been relaxing. Some flatpanel TVs hanging around broadcast sports channels, though the room is generally pretty quiet especially if you can sit further back, away from the entrance and the noisy hall.

I had the BBQ beef brisket and it was fairly good. The beef was almost bacon thin instead of those nasty big chunks you see at places like Station buffets, and there was a lot of it packed in there. In fact, the dinner came with the brisket, a full ear of corn, cole slow, and bread. Even if the food is only average, there's a lot of it.

Prices weren't bad, service was inadequately slow but that's the case almost everywhere that isn't one of the very expensive resorts.

I can't speak for the rest of the restaurants, but if they're in line with this then I'd say the infamy of Circus food is more reputation than fact. Maybe the reputation is scaring the customers away, as the dinner I had would have cost $4-$6 more if it was being served at Harrah's or the Flamingo. So please, if you're a Circus Circus basher, keep it up so I can come back at these prices.
